Charles Louis Baert (1824 - after 1885)

 

Associated with the Beldant brothers in Le Mans in the construction of Railways of Local Interest (VFIL).

Entrepreneur at Le Mans, co-operated with Louis Verney in 1890.

 

Louis Verney (1872-1945) 

 

Father of Yves, Jean-Louis François and Colette Verney.

He teamed up with Charles Baert, a railway manufacturer, and married his daughter Charlotte Suzanne (1879-1927).

Co-founder of the SCF in 1927 with François Baert.

 

He was an engineer graduate from the Central School of Arts and Manufactures (known as Centrale), which specialised in works of art

Creator in 1906, administrator and consulting engineer of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO).

President of the Syndicat des Entrepreneurs de France.

Officer of the Legion of Honour.

 

François Baert (**** - 1933) 

 

Son of Charles Louis Baërt

Co-founder of the SCF with Louis Verney.


Yves Verney (1902-1962) 

 

Father of Jean-Michel Verney (known as Yves-Michel) and Marc Verney.CEO of the SCF. Mayor of Dinard in 1953 re-elected in 1959. Knight of the Legion of Honour. Officer of the Mérite Touristique. Treasurer of the Association of Mayors of Tourist and Climatic Resorts.

Jean-Louis Francois Verney (1905-1990) 

 

Second son of Louis, he was the CEO of SAMV at Le Mans. He became CEO of SCF in 1962 following the death of his brother Yves the 23rd may 1962. He became Honorary Chairman in 1977 with the appointment of Yves-Michel VERNEY. He also took an active part in the organization of the Le Mans 24 Hours race where he was a member of the panel of stewards.Related through his sister, Mrs. Pierre Bollee, to the family of the first builders of cars.Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur. Died in his 85th year on 17th June 1990. 

Marc Yves Louis Verney (1943 - 2001)

Second son of Yves Verney, he was the CEO of CBM in 1977. He began in the C.A.T. of Saint-Brieuc in 1968, as a trainee. Next, he worked in the "Compagnie Ardennaise de Transports" in Charleville, before becoming director of the STABE in Belfort then CBM, where he left his place at Mrs. Cardot.

 

 

Yves-Michel Verney (1935-1998) 

 

Son of Yves Verney, father of Bruno Verney and two daughters. Knight of the National Order of Merit. Diploma of the Hautes Etudes Commerciales du Nord (EDHEC) and Cambridge University ISSEC.He became Deputy Director of C.A.T. 22 in 1962, then Director in 1963. He then became Director of C.A.T. 29 Quimper in September 1964 until January 1965 when he became Regional Director for Brittany. In January 1967, he became head of Transports Verney Marchandises before becoming the CEO of SCF in January 1972. He was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SCF Transports Verney in September 1977. From 1990 he restructured the Verney Group, undergoing both regional and legal restructuring Then he created Verney Ville to include urban operations in the Group’s activities. He died suddenly at the age of 62 on July 4, 1998. Homage paid to Mr. Yves-Michel VERNEY for his 80 years.

 

 

Bruno Verney (1971)

Son of Yves-Michel Verney. Graduated with a Master's Degree in Management Science and a Diploma in Higher Education in Accounting & Finance. He was appointed head of the Group on July 8, 1998, after the approval of the shareholder Michelin.

He left his position in February 2002 at the time of the acquisition by Connex.
